Congratulations to the 20 pupils from Year 6 at Erdington Hall who have received an Arts Awards from Trinity College London for their Shakespeare project.
20 pupils from Year 6 have trained as tour guides with Shakespeare’s Trust in Stratford- upon -Avon. This has coincided with their learning of Shakespeare and the Tudors as part of the Year 6 curriculum. It has helped them focus on their presentation and speaking skills and helped developed their confidence. The pupils completed a full day of training and then the following week they became official tour guides at the houses belonging to Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust.
The pupils needed to deliver scripts to the public and speak to them about Shakespeare and his homes. Shakespeare’s trust commented how confident, articulate and knowledgeable the children were. They were fantastic ambassadors for the school and Trust and were praised highly by the public.
David Barker, Vice Principal, has confirmed that this project will be running again next academic year so we look forward to hearing about how this project develops.
Well done to Year 6 at Erdington Hall!
