Vince Green to take over the post from September
Vince Green has been announced as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Summit Learning Trust from September 2022. He will take the place of Catherine Anwar who has been CEO of the trust since May 2017. Vince is currently the Education Director at Summit.
Summit Learning Trust is based in Birmingham and includes four primary and three secondary schools and the Sixth Form College, Solihull. They provide an education for around 8000 children and young people; some of their children are with them from age 3 to age 18.
Prior to joining Summit Learning Trust in January 2021, Vince was the Regional Education Director and Executive Principal at a large, national multi-academy trust. Before this he was the Principal of Bristnall Hall Academy for five years, the highest performing secondary provider within its local authority and trust. Vince started his teaching career in Sendai, Japan and has held a variety of leadership roles in the West Midlands in rapidly improving schools.
Vince Green said:“I am honoured to have been appointed as the new CEO of Summit Learning Trust. Catherine has done an excellent job in improving our trust and academies over the past 5 years and guiding it through the challenges of the past two years during the pandemic. Under her leadership our trust has championed diversity, equity and inclusion resulting in the proportion of women leaders and leaders of colour in our schools increasing significantly, which is an amazing legacy.
As CEO, I look forward to working alongside our teams to take Summit Learning Trust to even higher peaks, with the highest of expectations for every learner in our care and have started to plan this with leaders from across our trust, schools and college. Central to this will be further developing all our colleagues to ensure that we maintain a happy, warm and hard-working environment and we further enhance the reputation of Summit as a great place to learn and work in.
I want parents and carers to know that sending their child to a Summit Learning Trust academy means that they are receiving exceptional provision and care, delivered by talented and ambitious educators. Our aim is for every child or young person who attends one of our schools or our college, to leave it with the qualifications, resilience, skills and knowledge they need to have a happy, successful life and make a positive difference to their communities and their future.”
Catherine Anwar said:“I’m delighted that Vince has been successfully appointed as our new CEO. His passion, positivity and vision will take our Trust on the next successful phase of the journey to deliver an exceptional education to all our learners. Whilst I will miss all our wonderful Summit colleagues when I leave this summer, I’m confident that the leadership of our Trust is in great hands going forward.”
